New Delhi, June 1 (IANS) The capital had no respite from the sweltering heat Tuesday with the maximum temperature recorded at 44.1 degrees Celsius, three notches above average, the weatherman said.

‘Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 44.1 degrees Celsius which was three degrees above the average for this time of the year,’ an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.

The minimum temperature was recorded at 28 degrees Celsius. The humidity was recorded at 44 percent.

The roads and markets of the capital wore a deserted look as people preferred to stay indoors.

‘Delhi can expect a maximum temperature of around 44 degrees Celsius Wednesday and minimum of 30 degrees Celsius,’ the official added.

According to the IMD, the capital can expect partly cloudy sky with a possibility of duststorm and thunderstorm in some areas Wednesday.
