New Delhi, April 12 (Inditop.com) Delhi Monday witnessed another hot day with the temperature soaring six notches above the average at 41.6 degrees Celsius and the weatherman forecast further rise in the mercury in the coming days.
The minimum Monday was recorded at 24.5 degrees Celsius, five degrees above the average.
The day temperature Monday was equal to the hottest of the season recorded Sunday. The weatherman attributed the rise in mercury to lack of western disturbance.
“There will be no respite from the heat in the coming days and the mercury will soar further,” said an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official.
The Met office has forecast that the maximum and minimum temperatures would hover around 41 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius, respectively, Tuesday.
The streets of the capital wore a deserted look during the day as people avoided stepping out in the hot weather.
“I was supposed to visit my dentist this (Monday) afternoon but I got my appointment changed as it was very hot,” said Neha Gupta, a housewife.
