New Delhi, Aug 30 (IANS) Delhiites continued to sweat for another day Monday with high humidity levels and the minimum temperature two degrees above the average. The weather office said light showers were expected in some pockets of the capital.

The maximum humidity was on the higher side at 97 percent while the minimum was 72 percent.

‘It is a clear sky Monday but it may become cloudy later in the day. There might be light showers in some areas. The humidity will remain high till mid-September,’ said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The minimum temperature was 27.4 degree Celsius. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 35 degrees, a notch above the average, the official said.

The city didn’t get any rains Sunday.

Delhi received 698.6 mm of rainfall so far this monsoon, which is 41 percent above average. In August alone, the capital received 455.1 mm of rainfall – almost 100 percent above the average.
