New Delhi, Feb 28 (IANS) The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) Monday said Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee’s budget was disappointing because it did not address inflation and corruption that ‘impose burden on people’.

‘The budget is disappointing as it doesn’t address issues imposing burden on people – inflation and corruption,’ CPI-M’s Sitaram Yechury told reporters.

‘The government is encouraging money laundering and has nothing substantial to bring back the black money or preventing it,’ he said.

The communist leader said the budget only carried forward ‘financial liberalisation and some populist measures’.

‘It has nothing substantial for the minorities. Even the financial aid to minority institutions will not help poorest of the poor among minorities.’
