New Delhi, June 30 (IANS) Drizzle is expected Wednesday, but Delhiites will have to wait for another two to three days for the monsoon rains, the weatherman said.

‘Duststorm is expected. Even drizzle can occur towards the end of the day. Pre-monsoon showers can come, but monsoon rains will arrive after two to three days,’ said an official of the India Meteorological Department.

The maximum temperature is likely to go four notches above average to 40.6 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature was 31.6 degrees, four degrees above average for this time of the year.

‘The temperature may go down or will remain constant for the next few days.’

The humidity level was high, oscillating between 66 percent and 41 percent, the official added.

June 29 is the normal date for the arrival of the monsoon here.

Charan Singh, director of the Northern Hemisphere Analysis Centre, said: ‘The monsoons have reached Gujarat, parts of south Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. We will not call it a delay in the monsoons. We keep a nine-day time for its arrival. So the monsoon is expected anytime between June 29 to July 9.’

He said it is about to reach Bihar and its neighbouring states.
