New Delhi, July 30 (IANS) Four people accused of drug trafficking were arrested and drugs worth Rs.93 lakh were recovered in three separate incidents, police said Saturday.

Haider, 30, was arrested from east Delhi July 27 and 500 gram heroin worth Rs.50 lakh was recovered from him, police said.

‘The accused was to deliver the drugs to his clients when we arrested him. He was arrested in 2008 also for a similar offence and was out on bail,’ a police official said.

Irshad Ahmed, 41, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, was arrested July 26 near Nigam Bodh Ghat in north Delhi just before he was scheduled to deliver a consignment of charas, said police.

‘We recovered from him 3,400 kg of charas, which is worth Rs.7 lakh,’ said a police official.

According to police, Ahmed got the charas from Nepal.

In another incident, two traffickers were arrested from east Delhi and drugs worth Rs.35 lakh were recovered, said police.

Imran Khan, 24, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, and Ashfaq, 42, a resident of Delhi, were arrested July 25 from Shastri Park and 350 gram heroin was recovered from the duo, said police.
