New Delhi, Sep 29 (IANS) The strong England squash team will be looking to snare maximum medals at the Delhi Commonwealth Games.

‘We have been working very hard for singles as well as doubles. In singles we occupy all the top four seeded positions and in doubles we occupy first and third seeds,’ said Daryl Paul Selby, a member of the squash team.

Selby was confident that the ranking and quality of players would definitely help England return with a handful of gold medals from squash.

‘But make no mistake; we’ll have to work hard as squash is a very tough sport. Australia and Malaysia are tough competition, while India and Pakistan also have good individual players,’ he said.

Selby said they are very impressed with the facilities.

‘The Games Village is indeed very impressive, especially the International Zone. Since we have arrived, we have been treated to some of the best facilities ever in terms of dining and accommodation.’

‘The food here is fantastic and of very high quality, that’s what an athlete needs,’ he added.

‘Our team manager was here before us and he told us that most of the things were done while some minor things remained. He said it was a brilliant place and a world-class facility.’
