New Delhi, Dec 31 (Inditop.com) Heavy fog engulfed the national capital Thursday, disrupting flight schedules at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA).
Visibility dropped to 200 metres affecting around a dozen domestic and international flights to and from the airport.
“The visibility improved to 700 metres around 9.30 a.m. and many early morning flights were rescheduled,” an airport official said.
Delhi Thursday recorded a minimum of 6 degrees Celsius, a notch above the average, said an official at the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The weatherman has forecast dense fog for Friday with the minimum and maximum temperature expected to hover around 7 and 25 degrees Celsius.
On Wednesday, the mercury dropped to 5.2 degrees Celsius, the season’s lowest.
