New Delhi, Jan 10 (IANS) Four people have been arrested in connection with the abduction of a Delhi-based businessman’s son, who was released after a ransom of Rs.80 lakh was paid to the abductors, police said Thursday.

Three of the accused — identified as Vikash Sehrawat, Surender Singh Gahlot and Jai Kumar — were arrested from the Dwarka Metro station Jan 8, while the fourth accused Phool Singh was arrested from Haryana Wednesday, police said.
“Following the arrest, we have recovered Rs.79.50 lakh of the ransom amount,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Sanjeev Yadav said.
The 19-year-old victim, who was abducted at gun point Dec 30 near his west Delhi house while he was returning from a party, was rescued during the intervening night of Dec 31 and Jan 1, Yadav said.
Initially, the abductors demanded Rs.10 crore as ransom but later they agreed to free the victim for Rs.80 lakh.
Soon after the release of the victim, the investigators identified the house where he was held captive. The house belonged to Phool Singh, a resident of Gurgaon, who used to run unauthorized parking lots and owned a newspaper distribution business, police said.
