Nabha, Aug 12 (IANS) Four members of a family, among them an old man and two women, were killed Thursday morning by some unidentified attackers in this Punjab town, police said.

According to the police, the victims included a middle-aged man and a woman, an 18-year-old girl and a 75-year-old man. They were murdered at a house in Preet Colony here.

‘The victims were murdered, using sharp-edged weapons. We suspect that at least seven people were involved in the crime,’ Harbhajan Singh, a police officer, told IANS.

‘We are taking the help of forensic experts and sniffer dogs to collect clues about this incident. We have sent the bodies to the civil hospital in Patiala for the post-mortem examination. The deceased were natives of a village in Sangrur district,’ he added.

Nabha town of Patiala district is around 50 km from Chandigarh.
