Bhopal, Jan 1 (IANS) The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) of the Madhya Pradesh Police re-arrested four members of the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) who were among the seven who fled from a jail last October, an official said Wednesday.
The police arrested Javed Nagori, Abdul Aziz, Mohd Abid and Mohd Wahid late Tuesday from the Mahidapur area in Ujjain district of Madhya Pradesh, about 200 km from the state capital, on the basis of information provided by Abu Faisal, also a member of SIMI who too had fled from Khandwa Jail and was re-arrested Dec 25, 2013.
ATS chief Sanjeev Shami said a huge cache of explosives was also recovered.
Seven SIMI members escaped from the state’s Khandwa jail last October 2. This is the second big break for police since the arrest of Abu Faisal, allegedly a vital link between the Indian Mujahideen and SIMI.
