Shimla, Feb 23 (Inditop.com) Himachal Pradesh’s popular tourist resorts near Shimla saw fresh snowfall early Tuesday, leading to a considerable fall in temperature.

Just a half-hour drive from here, Kufri, located 2,510 metres above sea level, received 5-8 cm of snowfall, Manmohan Singh, director of the meteorological office here, told Inditop.

He said Narkanda, 65 km from here, also received moderate snowfall.

Likewise, high hills in Lahaul and Spiti, Kinnaur, Kullu and Chamba districts experienced moderate snowfall.

Lower areas of the state including Dharamsala, Shimla, Solan and Mandi towns received moderate to heavy rain.

The minimum temperature in Shimla fell to 3 degrees Celsius from Monday’s 9.

Singh said the fresh snow and rain was due to western disturbances.

The Met department predicted more rain and snow in the state till Wednesday.
