New Delhi, May 31 (IANS) A Gurgaon-based company has been booked for violating the orders of Delhi Police wherein companies have to arrange for female employees to be dropped at their doorstep after office, police said Friday.
“A case under section 188 (disobedience of an official order) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the company based in Gurgaon, Haryana,” a Delhi Police statement said.
According to the statement, a female staff of the company was spotted by a Delhi Police personnel being dropped a kilometre away from her house in Lajpat Nagar area at around 4.30 a.m. Thursday by the company’s cab driver.
Police immediately apprehended the driver Sunil Kumar.
Police said that after the January 2010 Dhaula Kuan rape case, they had issued an order in December making it mandatory for BPOs, corporate and media houses to drop their women employees at their doorsteps at night.
