Shimla, Dec 31 (Inditop.com) Himachal Pradesh has initiated steps for preservation of its ecology and environment, Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said Thursday.
“Recognising the adverse impact of global warming, our government has initiated several steps for preservation of ecology and environment in the state,” Dhumal said at the concluding function of the 14th All India Banbasi (tribal) Sports meet at Solan town, 45 km from here.
“Snowfall during Christmas and New Year has been a thing of the past now. The state was experiencing dry winters. It was all due to the change in climate conditions,” he said while addressing more than 400 sportspersons from 25 states.
Maharashtra teams emerged as the winner during the four-day event organised by the Banbasi Kalyan Ashram, while the runners-up was Chhattisgarh.
