Shimla, Jan 3 (IANS) Intense cold wave conditions continued in most parts of Himachal Pradesh Tuesday with the higher reaches recording sub-zero temperatures.

The Met office forecast a further fall in mercury due to approaching western disturbances in the region, meaning fresh snow and rain in the next few days.

Shimla saw a slight decline in night temperature. It saw a low of 2.6 degrees Celsius, a marginal fall from Monday, the weather office here said. However, the day’s temperature was 12.9 degrees.

Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti district and Kalpa in Kinnaur district shivered at minus 6.1 degrees and minus 2.7 degrees, respectively.

The night temperature in popular resort Manali slipped to minus 2 degree Celsius and at Dharamsala, the seat of the Dalai Lama, to 4.5 degrees.

The Met forecast snow and rain across the state till Jan 6.
