New Delhi, Sep 1 (IANS) It was a hot day for Delhiites Thursday, with mercury rising three notches above average. However, the Met office has forecast a rainy Friday.

Thursday’s maximum and minimum temperatures settled at 36.7 and 28.7 degrees Celsius respectively, both three notches above average for this time of the season, an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

Maximum humidity was recorded at 85 percent.

However, Delhiites can expect some relief ahead.

‘The skies will generally remain cloudy with possibility of rain and thundershowers towards (Thursday) night and Friday,’ the IMD official said.

The minimum and maximum temperatures are expected to hover around 36 and 28 degrees Celsius respectively.
