New Delhi, June 1 (IANS) The day began on a scorching note for Delhiites Friday with the minimum temperature settling seven notches above average at 34.3 degrees Celsius. However, there could be some respite with the Met department forecasting possible thundershowers towards the evening.
“The skies will remain partly cloudy through the day but there could be duststorms accompanied by rain towards the evening and night in some parts of the city,” an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
“The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 43 degrees Celsius,” the official added.
Thursday’s maximum temperature settled at 45.4 degrees Celsius, five notches above the average – – the highest in this season – while the minimum was 31.2 degrees Celsius, four notches above the average.
Humidity recorded at 8.30 a.m. Friday was 31 percent.
