New Delhi, Aug 31 (IANS) A hot and humid day is in store for Delhi Wednesday as Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated across the capital. Light rains are expected towards the evening, an official said.

The sky will remain partly cloudy and the maximum temperature is expected to touch 36 degrees Celsius, an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official told IANS.

The minimum temperature recorded in the morning was two notches above average at 27.6 degrees Celsius. A total of 4 mm of rain was recorded since Tuesday morning till 8.30 a.m. Wednesday.

‘The humidity will remain high. Light rains are expected towards the evening,’ the official said.

Delhi has received lesser than average rains this year.
