New Delhi, June 21 (IANS) A couple were arrested for murdering a 25-year-old man in east Delhi, police said Tuesday, adding that woman had an affair with the deceased.
The accused – identified as Zameer Khan and Shabo Begum – were arrested in Seemapuri Monday.
Police said that the woman abetted her husband in the crime to save her marriage as hehusband asked to choose between divorce or eliminating her paramour, Salim. She opted for the second option.
‘The incident took place on June 17 when Begum called Salim to her house telling him that her husband is away. When Salim was lying on the bed Zameer came and stabbed him. Shabo also took out a knife and slit his neck,’ said a police officer.
‘Having killed Salim, they both cut his body in seven pieces and stuffed in two sacks, which they dumped in Indirapuram forest,’ added the officer.
The police swung into action when Salim’s father complained that his son is missing since June 17.
‘The police narrowed down on Zameer and his wife. There were discrepancies in their version and they finally confessed to murder,’ said the officer.
