New Delhi, Feb 11 (IANS) Two marine police training institutes will be set up at the east and west coasts of the country, parliament was told Tuesday.
“The central government intends to set up two marine police training institutes, one each on the west coast and east coast,” Minister of State for Home Affairs Mullappally Ramachandran informed the Lok Sabha in a written reply.
The minister said government has inspected the sites offered by Maharashtra and Gujarat for the academy and a final decision will be taken soon on the location at the west coast.
Locations under consideration along the east coasts were however not mentioned in the reply.
