Avishag Ariel, who was living in Udaipur for the past six years after marrying a local resident, was allegedly injected a contaminated anaesthetic, police said, citing her family members.
The family members alleged that the injection had a lethal reaction in her body, leading to her death.
According to police Inspector Dinesh Singh, the woman lived with her husband, Rajendra Singh, in the Chandpole area of the city, some 400 km from Jaipur.
‘The couple alreasy had a child. In the second pregnancy, she was admitted at Geetanjali Medical College and Hospital Saturday night,’ he said.
‘The family members say that she was in good health before the hospital doctors administered her anesthesia. Her condition suddenly deteriorated and she died before delivering the baby,’ he added.
The family members gathered in the hospital and shouted slogans. They later lodged a complaint with the police.
‘We have registered the FIR against hospital doctors for negligence leading to death of the woman,’ said the officer.
