New Delhi, Aug 9 (IANS) The day began on a pleasant note in the national capital as Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated Friday. Light rain and cool winds made for ideal conditions for festivity. The Met office has forecast more rain later in the day.

“The skies will be cloudy and rain is expected in some parts of the city,” an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
The maximum temperature will hover around 30 degrees Celsius.
The city experienced a wet Friday morning and the minimum temperature settled a notch below average at 25.4 degrees Celsius.
Delhi received a total of 16.2 mm of rains from 8.30 a.m. Thursday to 8.30 a.m. Friday.
Rains had lashed the city Thursday as well, and the maximum temperature had settled three notches below average at 30.8 degrees Celsius, while the minimum was a notch below average at 25.8 degrees.
Since the monsoon’s arrival in June, Delhi has received 501.3 mm of rain, 39 percent more than the average.
