New Delhi, Aug 23 (IANS) A city court Monday granted bail to a retired director of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) who was arrested for passing sensitive information to a CIA agent and was in jail since the last four years.

Additional Session Judge Inder Jeet Singh granted bail to Brig. (retd) Ujjawal Dasgupta on a personal bond and surety of Rs.75,000 each. He was in jail since July 19, 2006.

The court has restrained him from leaving the country.

Dasgupta, a former director in RAW’s computer division, was arrested for allegedly violating the Official Secrets Act by passing on sensitive information to an American diplomat Rosanna Minchew who was allegedly acting as a spy and was working in the US embassy in Delhi.
