Bhopal, Oct 14 (IANS) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan Monday ordered a judicial probe into the temple stampede that left over 110 people dead.
He told the media after visiting the stampede site in Datia district that the guilty will be punished at the earliest.
“A judicial inquiry will be done… It will be completed in two months. Once the report comes, within 15 days the guilty will be punished,” he said.
“Since the judicial inquiry report will take time to come, depending on the feedback, administrative responsibility will be fixed. We will seek the Election Commission’s permission so that we can take action against those found guilty,” he said.
He promised to take steps to avoid such tragedies in future.
More than 110 people were killed Sunday in a stampede on a bridge, across the Sindh river, leading to a Durga temple in Datia.
