Shimla, Dec 23 (Inditop.com) Keylong, the headquarters of Lahaul and Spiti district in Himachal Pradesh, Wednesday morning recorded the lowest temperature of the season with the mercury plummeting to minus 10.3 degrees Celsius, the weatherman said.
“The temperature recorded was minus 10.3 degrees Celsius,” Manmohan Singh, director of the meteorological office here, told Inditop.
He said the high altitude areas have been experiencing extremely cold climatic conditions.
“Kalpa in Kinnaur district was the second coldest place in the state, registering a minimum temperature of minus 4.0 degrees Celsius,” he said.
Shimla, located at an altitude of 7,000 feet, also recorded a fall in night temperature.
It recorded a minimum temperature of 2.9 degrees Celsius, down by 1.5 degrees in comparison to Tuesday.
Elsewhere, Dharamsala and Bhuntar near Kullu registered a minimum temperature of 4.1 degrees Celsius and minus 0.5 degrees Celsius respectively.
However, the popular tourist destinations Shimla, Kasauli, Manali, Chamba, Dalhousie and Dharamsala have been experiencing sunny days during the past few days.
