Shimla, Feb 18 (Inditop.com) Keylong in Himachal Pradesh Thursday recorded the lowest temperature of the season at minus 13.9 degrees Celsius, the weatherman said.

“Keylong, the headquarters of Lahaul and Spiti, Thursday recorded the lowest temperature of the season. It saw a low of minus 13.9 degrees Celsius despite no fresh snow,” Manmohan Singh, director of the Met office in Shimla, told Inditop.

He said it recorded a minimum of minus 12 degrees Celsius Wednesday.

The Lahaul valley has been cut off from the rest of the country since Dec 10 last year due to closure of the Rohtang Pass, located at an attitude of 13,050 feet.

Another town Kalpa in Kinnaur district recorded a low of minus 5 degrees Celsius.

However, mid and low hills continued to experience bright sunshine.

State capital Shimla recorded a night temperature of 4.4 degrees Celsius while the maximum was 15.3 degrees Celsius.
