Jaipur, Sep 3 (IANS) A khap panchayat (caste council) in Rajasthan has expelled a man from their village after it found him guilty of murdering an 11-year-old boy, police said Saturday.

The incident happened in Karauli district’s Garet village, some 180 km from here. It came to light Friday.

‘Vishnu was found dead in his brother-in-law Ramesh Meena’s house on August 27. The parents did not inform the police. They instead asked the khap panchayat to take action,’ a police officer told IANS.

A police team was rushed to the village to probe the boy’s death Friday and the state government removed a local policeman.

The khap panchayat held court Tuesday night. Ramesh was ordered to leave the area immediately, said the officer.

No one from the community is allowed to have any contact with Ramesh. He was also barred from participating in any public function, according to the judgment.
