Leh, Jan 6 (Inditop.com) Ladakh in Jammu and Kashmir was freezing as the maximum temperature in the district Wednesday remained below zero degrees. The weather office has forecast severe cold over the next few days in the Kashmir valley.

The minimum temperature recorded in the district capital of Leh was minus 19.2 degrees Celsius, an official said here.

“The maximum temperature in Leh was zero degrees while the minimum was minus 19.2 degrees,” an official of the weather department said.

In Kargil, the maximum temperature was minus 4.6 degrees while the minimum temperature was minus 19 degrees Celsius.

However, the mercury showed an upward trend in summer capital Srinagar. “The maximum temperature in Srinagar was 5.6 degrees Celsius while the minimum was 1.8 degrees,” the official added.

The weather office has forecast dry and cold weather for the next four days across the valley.
