Srinagar, Nov 16 (IANS) Night temperatures continued to remain below the freezing point in the valley Saturday as Leh town recorded the season’s lowest temperature at minus 12 degrees.

“The minimum temperature dropped to minus 12 degrees Celsius in Leh town Saturday. This is the lowest recorded temperature this season so far in the town,” according to the Meteorological Department.
“Night temperature remained below the freezing point at all places in the valley. Srinagar recorded minus 2.1, Pahalgam minus 4.0, Gulmarg minus 1.8, and Kargil minus 7.0,” it said.
“The night temperature was 9 degrees in Jammu city Saturday,” Sonam Lotus, director of the meteorological office told IANS.
Lotus also said the weather is likely to remain dry during the next seven days across Jammu and Kashmir.
“Days would have clear sky, while night temperatures are expected to drop further during the next seven days in the state. However, there could be slight snowfall at isolated places in the higher reaches”, Lotus added.
