Shimla, July 2 (Inditop.com) The southwest monsoon was below normal in Himachal Pradesh Thursday after remaining active during the past two days, weather officials here said.

“There was a lull in the monsoon in most parts of the hill state Thursday. The past two days saw a good spell of showers across the state,” Shimla meteorological office director Manmohan Singh said.

While tourist town Shimla received just 0.2 mm of rain, Manali received 1 mm, Kalpa in Kinnaur district 0.3 mm and Udaipur in Lahaul and Spiti district got 5.3 mm rainfall.

Singh said the monsoon would be strengthened in the state in the next few days.
