Patna, July 2 (IANS) Four people were shot dead by Maoists in a village in Bihar’s Munger district, police said Saturday.

Nearly 50 armed Maoists stormed Bangalwa Kareli village, about 200 km from Patna, late Friday and killed four people, a police officer said.

According to a report, the rebels also abducted five villagers. Security has been heightened in the village.

Munger is considered a Maoist stronghold.
