New Delhi, July 31 (IANS) The mastermind of a heist at a gold loan company’s office in east Delhi last month was arrested from Uttar Pradesh and looted articles worth Rs.12 lakh recovered, police said Sunday.
Sat Pal Singh alias Raj, 25, was arrested Saturday from a nursing home in Meerut.
He plotted the May 10 robbery at Muthoot Finance’s branch in Pandav Nagar in east Delhi during which around nine kg gold and Rs.1.5 lakh were looted, police said.
Police recovered a pistol and three live cartridges from him. At his instance, police also recovered looted gold worth over Rs.12 lakh.
Five co-accused Rahul, Mahender, Satish, Rajkishore and Kamal were arrested earlier.
A hunt is on for two other co-accused Rohtash and Vineet.
‘Satpal had met with an accident and was admitted to a nursing home, from where he was arrested,’ a senior police official said.
