New Delhi, Dec 3 (IANS) Continuing with its ongoing demolition drive against unauthorised constructions, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Friday demolished illegal portions of six structures in north Delhi.

According to the civic body’s building department, 44 such illegal portions of properties in various part of the city have been demolished in the past one week.

The unauthorised portions of properties under the civic body’s scanner Friday were located in areas like Kingsway Camp, Mahendru Enclave, Adarsh Nagar and Rana Pratap Bagh in the Civil Lines Zone.

During the last four days, the building department demolished 24 illegal structures, including these six.

‘On November 30, the MCD demolished nine unauthorised constructions in Civil Lines Zone while MCD Central Zone took similar action against 11 properties yesterday (Thursday) for alleged violation of building bye-laws, and the demolition drive on such unauthorised construction will continue,’ Deep Mathur spokesperson said.

Apart from this, the MCD Thursday sealed 14 commercial units, including branches of three nationalised banks, in south Delhi for violating the Master Plan-2021 and building bye-laws.
