It was inaugurated by Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi in Singhu border between Delhi and Haryana.

‘I am every happy to inaugurate the memorial which is dedicated to Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. He is not only in the heart of Sikhs but he is in the heart of each one of us,’ Gandhi said.

The three arches of the memorial represent the three disciples of Guru Tegh Bahadur, who sacrificed their lives to protect human values, Gandhi said.

Constructed at a cost of Rs.25 crore, the central pylon of the memorial is 24 metres high, with LED lights installed at the top.

The foundation stone of this memorial was laid by Congress president Sonia Gandhi in 2004.
