Ghaziabad, Dec 26 (IANS) Three robbers Thursday snatched gold jewellery and a mobile phone from two women and shot a bank manager on a street here when he resisted them, police said.

The incidents occurred early in the morning near the Hindon Indian Air Force station, Superintendent of Police G. Muniraj said.
The two women were on their morning walk when the motorcycle-borne criminals snatched their gold chains, the mobile and a ring from them.
The victims were identified as Mithlesh Sharma and Aruna Sakar, wives of retired officers of a paramilitary force and the army respectively.
The criminals then tried to rob a bank manager of a bag he was carrying. When he resisted, one of them fired at his head from a gun, but the bullet hit him elsewhere.
Doctors said he was in a critical condition.
