Shimla, Jan 16 (Inditop.com) Mercury continued to rise in Himachal Pradesh Saturday with no fresh rain or snow, the Met department said. Shimla recorded a remarkable rise in night temperature.

“Shimla recorded a low of 8 degrees Celsius Saturday morning, a noticeable rise of 3.5 degrees from Friday’s,” Manmohan Singh, director of the meteorological office here, told Inditop.

He said Shimla’s minimum temperature was six degrees above average for this time of the year. “The rise in mercury is due to bright sunny days,” Singh said.

Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti district and Kalpa in Kinnaur saw a low of minus 11.9 and minus 4.8 degrees respectively. They Friday recorded the night temperature at minus 11.5 and minus 4 degrees respectively.

Sundernagar in Mandi district recorded a minimum of 0.8 degrees, while it was 2.7 degrees in Dharamsala and 0.4 degrees in Bhuntar in Kullu district, he said.

However, the Met department has predicted rain and snow in the state after Sunday.
