Kohima, Jul 6 (IANS) A close aide of Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio made a narrow escape after unidentified armed men opened fire at him outside his house, police said Friday.

Abu Metha, the press secretary to the chief minister, was attacked after he got out of his vehicle outside his home here Thursday night, a police official said.
Metha, however, did not receive any bullet injuries as he immediately rushed inside.
“I don’t know who were they and how many of them were there but theyfired at me and I managed to escaped,” Metha told IANS.
Nagaland Police have started their investigation into the incident
“The process of the investigation is on and we are investigating into all angles to trace out perpetrators,” said Kohima police chief Rothihu Tetso.
Asked if he suspected involvement of any rebel groups behind the incident, Tetso said, “We haven’t got any clue at all.”
