New Delhi, April 26 (IANS) A 29-year-old woman committed suicide within two weeks of her marriage by hanging herself from a ceiling fan in east Delhi, police said Thursday. Her family members have registered a dowry complaint against her husband.

Sunita Sharma hanged herself to death in Laxmi Nagar, around 10.30 p.m. Wednesday, after a heated argument with her husband Rakesh Sharma, police said. Sunita, who hailed from Hamirpur in Uttar Pradesh, married Rakesh April 13.
Rakesh found his wife hanging and rushed her to a nearby hospital where she was declared brought dead.
“Her family members registered a case of exploitation for dowry against her husband while her in-laws’ family refuted the allegations. Inquiry is on into the matter,” said a police official.
Initial inquiry revealed that Rakesh had consumed liquor Wednesday night and got into an argument with his wife after which she committed suicide.
Both husband and wife were residing in a rented accommodation at Guru Ram Das Nagar in Laxmi Nagar area.
