New Delhi, Feb 11 (IANS) Four people arrested in connection with the death of Arunachal Pradesh student Nido Tania have been booked under murder charges, Delhi Police told a court here Tuesday.

Accused Sunny Uppal, Pawan, Sunder and Farman have been booked in the case, police told Metropolitan Magistrate Pawan Kumar.
The court was also told that according to the post-mortem examination report, Tania died due to serious internal head injuries.
Initially, Pawan, Sunder and Farman were arrested Feb 3 and booked under the Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act for passing racist remarks on Tania. The three were later sent to judicial custody.
Sunny Uppal was presented before the court Tuesday which sent him to judicial custody till Feb 25.
The 19-year-old Tania was beaten up by shopkeepers in south Delhi’s Lajpat Nagar area Jan 29 following a row over his appearance and clothing. He died in a hospital the next day.
The Delhi High Court was Monday informed that Tania received serious injuries on his head, lungs and face.
“There were nine internal injuries and the nature of external injuries were simple. The injuries in the head led to death. There was no poisoning found in the body,” police told the court, reading from the post-mortem report.
The special court hearing the bail plea of Pawan and Sundar adjourned it for Feb 14 after the defence counsel sought time for preparing his argument.
Counsel Shalabh Gupta told the special court, exclusively dealing with cases under the SC/ST Act, that police have slapped murder charges against the accused, and so he needs more time to prepare.
