Greater Noida, Dec 2 (IANS) A court in Noida has registered a complaint case on charges of dacoity, intimidation, hurt and mischief on the application of four women from Bhatta Parsaul village of Greater Noida, a lawyer said Friday.

The cases were linked to the violence allegedly perpetrated by police after the protests against land acquisition in May.

On the complaint of Archna, wife of farmer Neeraj Malik, Kanti Devi, wife of Trilok Singh, Vijay Devi, wife of Dharm Singh, and Rajwati, wife of Satte, ‘Chief Judicial Magistrate Vipin Sharma ordered registration of complaint cases. The complaint cases have been registered and on Dec 7 statements of the victims will be registered in the court,’ lawyer D.S. Bhadana.

One of the petitioners said: ‘A day after Bhatta Parsaul’s violent clash, the police led by then Special Deputy General of Police Brij Lal and other officials reached Parsaul and Acchepur villages. They damaged and also set on fire private property of farmers and on resistance they thrashed women and children.’

The victims stated that after the incident they contacted the Dankaur police station with their applications against the alleged police atrocities but the station house officer did not register first information report.
