Ranchi, Feb 1 (IANS) Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren Saturday launched a new system that would offer prompt medical assistance to accident victims in state capital Ranchi.
The “Golden Hour System” is so named as each minute saved in getting medical assistance for the victim could make a life-or-death difference.
The system is a joint effort of Ranchi police, the Federation of Jharkhand Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FJCCI) and hospitals of Ranchi. Under the new system, accident victims will be provided immediate necessary medical help.
“We appreciate everyone involved in starting the Golden Hour System. We hope that the accident victims will be provided treatment first, and later, other formalities will be completed,” Soren said while launching the system.
Under the system, 25 hospitals of Ranchi have been connected, and anyone can call to inform the police control room, on 100 number or other numbers, to inform authorities about an accident.
The control room, which will have the numbers of the hospital closest to the accident site, will inform the hospital to send an ambulance and take prompt action.
