Bhubaneswar, Dec 29 (IANS) People took out marches and candlelight rallies in several places of the state to mourn the death of the 23-year-old Delhi gang-rape victim, who died early Saturday in a Singapore hospital.

Expressing his deepest condolence, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik demanded strong actions against the culprits who raped her Dec 16 in a moving bus in the national capital.
“It is truly a tragic incident. Very strong and timely action should be taken against such brutal crime,” he told reporters.
The victim, a physiotherapist intern was flown to Singapore in an air-ambulance late Wednesday night for better treatment. She suffered multiple-organ failure.
Hundreds of women, including social activists, teachers, and students stood along a busy road here to mourn her death. They demanded stringent action against the offenders.
Women activists of different political parties also carried out separate rallies here.
People protested silently carrying candles and some holding placards which read “Rest in peace the brave soul” and “Real men do not rape”.
People also held similar demonstrations and candle light rallies in other places, including Bolangir, Rourkela, and Cuttack.
