Raipur, Dec 29 (IANS) In a coordinated operation, Chhattisgarh Police Wednesday raided eight premises of a health official in four districts and unearthed assets of over Rs.40 million, a source said. A corruption case has been registered.
The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the police carried out a series of raids at premises of Gambhir Singh Thakur, who is posted as chief medical officer in Korea district.
Police recovered documents that revealed that he illegally amassed assets worth Rs.40 million, the police source told IANS here.
He said that the officer owned several luxurious houses, commercial complexes and lands across the state. He also owned costly vehicles.
