New Delhi, July 7 (IANS) One person was killed and another injured in two separate robberies in the capital Wednesday, police said.

In an incident in Sadar Bazar in north Delhi, a 40-year-old jeweller from Haryana was robbed of cash and jewellery worth lakhs of rupees before being stabbed and shot.

Police said that the deceased, identified as Ram Prakash, had come to Delhi from Haryana by train for purchasing jewellery. While coming out of the Sadar Bazar railway station, he was stopped by four assailants who tried to snatch his bag containing jewellery.

When he resisted, he was stabbed with a sharp weapon and later shot dead. He was immediately rushed to Bara Hindu Rao hospital, where the doctors pronounced him dead.

In another incident, a 32-year-old money exchanger was shot at in Kamla Market area in central Delhi. The victim identified as Kuldip Kapoor was robbed of his bag containing cash by three motorcycle-borne assailants.

According to police, Kapoor, was going to Connaught Place area when the assailants attacked him near Ajmeri Gate Chowk.

A policeman patrolling the area, tried to apprehend the assailants and fired three shots at them, but they managed to flee.
