Noida, June 28 (IANS) Two people were arrested here Monday for allegedly stealing antiques from the museum of a former royal in Bulandshahar district of Uttar Pradesh, police said.
Police arrested Bunty and Sudesh Pal from Kesar Garden intersection under Noida’s Sector-49 police station area Monday morning. Both are residents of Bulandshahar district.
Inspector Incharge, Sector-49, Abhay Pratap Singh said: ‘These persons had stolen silver utensils, silver coins, an antique sword, old cartridges and some cash from a museum owned by R.P. Singh in Uncha Gaon area in Bulandshahar.’
R.P. Singh, the son of former external affair minister Surendra Pal Singh, had lodged the complaint with Bulandshahr police.
The theft took place at his palace March 26 and a case was registered. The accused Bunty and Sudesh were employees of the palace owner and were absconding since the theft.
The Sector-49 police recovered eight kilogram of silver utensils and antique articles from their possession.
A burglary was reported by Singh at his museum in Uncha Gaon to Narsena police in Bulandshahar. ‘We have passed the information about their arrest to our counterparts in Bulandshahar,’ Singh said.
