Chandigarh, Jan 1 (IANS) Most places across Punjab and Haryana were slightly warmer Sunday compared to the low and sub-zero temperatures recorded in the past week.

Met centre officials said here that Amritsar, which had recorded minus 2.1 degrees Friday and minus 0.2 degrees Saturday, was much warmer with a low of 2.8 degrees. The maximum temperature in the past 24 hours was 19.7 degrees.

Ludhiana and Patiala recorded a high and low of 20.2 and five degrees and 21.1 and six degrees, respectively.

Haryana’s Hisar town, which had also recorded sub-zero temperature earlier, was warmer Saturday morning with a low of 6.1, one degree above average. The maximum temperature was 18.2 degrees, three degrees below average.

Chandigarh recorded a minimum of 8.2 degrees, three degrees above average, while the maximum temperature Saturday was 22.1 degrees, two degrees above average.

Met centre officials said that fog and mist could occur at a few places in the next two days.
