Chandigarh, Dec 29 (IANS) Most parts of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh were slightly warmer Thursday with the minimum and maximum temperatures showing increase over temperatures recorded Wednesday.
Chandigarh recorded a minimum temperature of 6.6 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal, while the maximum temperature (Wednesday) was 24 degrees, four degrees above normal, Met Centre officials said here Thursday.
Amritsar city in Punjab, which had seen sub-zero temperature in the last three days, recorded a low of two degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature here in the 24 hours since Wednesday was 20.7 degrees.
Amritsar was at minus 1.4 degrees Wednesday morning.
Ludhiana and Patiala recorded a high and low of 23.1 and 4.2 and 23.8 and 7.9 degrees, respectively.
Hisar town in Haryana, which had also recorded sub-zero temperature earlier and was reeling at 1.1 degrees Wednesday, had a low of 4.7 degrees Thursday. The maximum temperature there was 21.6 degrees.
Met centre officials said sunny weather could be experienced at most places in both states. They added that fog could occur at a few places in the next two days.
