Chandigarh, Feb 9 (Inditop.com) The sky remained overcast and it continued to rain in Punjab, Haryana and their joint capital of Chandigarh Tuesday, leading to a marginal dip in day temperature. The weatherman has forecast moderate to heavy showers in the next two days and a further plunge in temperature.
“This rainfall is due to the western disturbance over the northern plains in this part of the country. We are expecting more moderate to heavy showers in the next two days in most parts of this region,” a met official said here.
“Due to this rainfall, we have registered a marginal dip in day temperature whereas night temperature remained stable. However, we are expecting a plunge in both day and night temperatures by three to four degrees Celsius in the coming days,” he said.
Chandigarh recorded a minimum temperature of 13 degrees Celsius and 12 mm rainfall since Monday.
Amritsar in Punjab registered a minimum temperature of 14 degrees Celsius. Ludhiana and Patiala recorded 14.1 and 13.3 degrees Celsius respectively.
In Haryana, minimum temperatures at Ambala, Karnal and Hisar were 11.6, 14.4 and 15.6 degrees Celsius respectively.
