Jaipur, March 29 (IANS) The Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Thursday carried out surprise checks at 28 private nursing colleges across the state after conducting raids on 48 others earlier this month, officials said.
The raids are being carried out after complaints of gross irregularities in the functioning of these colleges.
“We had been receiving complaints of irregularities in these colleges for a long time. While 48 colleges were raided March 17, surprise checks were carried out at 28 others Thursday,” a senior ACB officer told IANS.
He added that the complaints were regarding lack of basic infrastructure at these colleges.
“The possibility of connivance of the authorities of these colleges with the officials of the Indian Nursing Council and Rajasthan Nursing Council is not being ruled out as the recognition was given to these colleges despite gross irregularities,” said the officer.
He added that documents were seized from these colleges and they will be verified with records of the Indian Nursing Council and Rajasthan Nursing Council.
“We will start lodging First Information Reports (FIRs) against college authorities and council officers after verification of the documents seized during the raids,” said the officer.
