New Delhi, March 28 (IANS) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said Wednesday that it registered 18 cases related to military deals, and filed chargesheet in 13 of them since 2004.

These cases have been filed against various public servants including some senior defence personnel, a CBI statement said.
“Of these, chargesheet (was) filed in 13 cases. Two cases have been closed as allegations were not substantiated and three cases are pending for non-execution of Letters Rogatory by other countries,” it added.
Further, a number of firms have been blacklisted on the recommendations of the CBI, it said.
The agency issued the statement in response to “published reports” criticizing its track record when it came to defence deals.
